Terms of Service

This is the agreement between you and PlayAny. It is written to be read, not to be survived. The short version: we rent you the hardware to run games you already own, you keep owning them, and neither of us gets to pretend the internet is perfect.

1. Who this is with

The service is provided by LEGAL ENTITY NAME, registered at REGISTERED ADDRESS ("we", "us"). By creating an account or using the app you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, do not use the service.

2. What the service is

PlayAny runs games on servers we operate and streams the picture to your device, taking your input back. We do not sell you games and we do not give you a licence to any. You play titles you have already bought on Steam, Epic Games, GOG, Xbox Game Pass, Ubisoft Connect, EA, Battle.net or PlayStation, and your right to play each one comes from that store, not from us.

3. Your store accounts

Connecting a store account is your choice and your responsibility. You must own the accounts you connect and be allowed to use them. Each store has its own terms, and some restrict streaming or remote play. If a store changes its rules or blocks us, titles from that store may stop working through PlayAny, and that is outside our control.

You may disconnect any store at any time. Doing so removes our access to it.

4. Your account

Keep your credentials to yourself. One account is for one person; do not share it or resell access. You must be 13 or older, and old enough under your local law to agree to a contract. Tell us promptly at hello@playany.net if you think someone else is using your account.

5. Fair use

Do not use PlayAny to:

We may suspend an account that does these things, and will say why when we do.

6. Subscription and payment

PlayAny is sold through the App Store. Price, billing period and renewal are shown before you buy and are charged by Apple. Subscriptions renew until you cancel, and you cancel in your Apple account settings, not with us. Refunds are handled by Apple under their policy.

If we change the price, we will tell you before the change applies to you, and you are free to cancel instead.

7. What we do not promise

Cloud gaming depends on your connection, your device and our capacity. We work hard on latency and cold start, and the figures on our site are real measurements, not guarantees. We do not promise that the service will be uninterrupted, that every title will run, or that a title available today will still be available tomorrow.

The service is provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, we exclude implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose.

8. Limits on liability

We are liable for what the law will not let us exclude, including death or personal injury caused by our negligence, and fraud. Beyond that, and to the extent the law allows, our total liability to you is capped at the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, and we are not liable for lost profits, lost data or indirect loss.

Nothing here takes away consumer rights you have under the law where you live.

9. Your content

Save states and anything else you create stay yours. We store them only to give the service back to you, and we delete them when you delete your account.

10. Our content

The PlayAny name, logo, app and site are ours. Games, cover art and trademarks shown belong to their publishers, and appear here to say which stores we support, nothing more.

11. Ending it

You can stop at any time by cancelling your subscription and deleting your account. We can suspend or end your access if you break these terms, if we are required to by law, or if we discontinue the service. If we discontinue it, we will give reasonable notice and refund any period you paid for and cannot use.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. If a change matters to you, we will tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect. Continuing to use the service after that means you accept the new version.

13. Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the law of JURISDICTION, and disputes go to the courts of JURISDICTION. If you are a consumer, you keep the right to bring a claim where you live.

14. Contact

hello@playany.net. A person reads it.

Note for the operator. The pink fields are facts only you can supply: legal entity, registered address and governing jurisdiction. This document describes the product honestly and follows the usual structure, but it has not been reviewed by a lawyer. Have counsel read it before launch, particularly clauses 7, 8 and 13, and check that clause 3 matches what each store's terms actually permit.
